The audience of 17 enjoyed the session, particularly in the part of historical data of Thai politics as related to the direction of Education dated back to year 2475 [1932]. A lot of things to be learned about our past politics to be able to understand the current happenings of our present Thai education.

เมื่อวันที่ 19 กรกฎาคม 2555 ได้มีคณะกรรมการประกันคุณภาพการศึกษาภายในมาตรวจเยี่ยมเพื่อประเมินคุณภาพการศึกษาในระดับคณะ โดยมี ดร.ประพัฒน์พงศ์ เสนาฤทธิ์ เป็นประธานคณะกรรมการฯ และมีกรรมการ 4 ท่าน คือ ดร.วราวรรณ สุวรรณผาติ อาจารย์ปิยะรัตน์ จันทรยุคล อาจารย์อชิตพล ฉัตรวรกร และ อาจารย์สุนีย์ ทองสว่าง โดยภายหลังการตรวจเยี่ยมคณะกรรมการได้สรุปผลการประเมินโดยรวมในเกณฑ์ดีมาก อันเป็นผลมาจากความร่วมมือร่วมใจในการปฏิบัติงานของบุคลากรภายในคณะฯทุกท่าน

Doctoral Colloquium 4-2013 on "Research and Development in Education"

The Doctor of Education Program organizes Doctoral Colloquium 4-2013 on the topic of "Research and Development in Education" on Saturday 11 January 2014. The purpose of the doctoral colloquium is to provide an academic forum for the program staff and students to share professional experiences as well as update themselves with forefront issues or developments in the field of Education. The guest speaker Assoc Prof Dr Maturos Chongchaikit highlights the theoretical aspects of research as applied to Field and Development in Education. Discussed are considerations for staff professional development in research, and concerns over the selection of topics and research methods as pertinent to educational contexts in Thailand. Eighteen participants are Ed.D. Staff members and students of ID 2552-2556. The evaluation of participants' satisfaction with the Colloquium reads 4.94 Very Good [of total 5 points].

The Doctor of Education Program hosts a congratulations lunch for ten graduates at Forget Me Not Restaurant, Rama Gardens Hotel. On Sunday 29.09.13. All staff and new Ed.D. graduates with their spouse share happy moments over delicious lunch. Cheerfully delighted graduates are Dr Prapapun Imkadee, Dr Siripan Katechaiyo, Dr Preecha Srimuk, Dr Sunchai Poonsuk, Dr Jessavuth Puapansawat, Dr Pattiwat Puttasakmetee, Dr Panarud Pongpapa, Dr Thatchanant Satasukh, Dr Chen Gao Yang, Dr Pannarat Wansavatkul Kadish. Program staff members joining this celebration are Assoc Prof Dr Ruja Pholsward, Dr Supatra Pradubpongse, Dr Manit Boonprasert, Asst Prof Dr Ubon Sanpatchayapong, Dr Prapatpong Senarit, Dr Wanida Ploysangwal, Dr Supinda Lertlit and Dr Donrutai Boonprasitt.



Doctoral Colloquium 2

Doctoral Colloquium 2 on the topic of IT Security for Educators by the guest speaker Dr Suttisak Jantawongso from the Faculty of Information Technology, Rangsit University on Saturday 31.08.13. The session was a great fun--as informative as thought-provoking--to the Ed.D. program staff members and students. The session evaluation from 16 respondents reads 91.25 % reflecting the audience's very high satisfaction.



Doctor of Education Program: Doctoral Colloquium 1

The Doctor of Education Program organized Doctoral Colloquium 1-2556 on the topic of ASEAN Challenges to Thai Educators on Saturday 13 July 2013, 13:00-16:00 hrs, #3-611, Building 3, Floor 6. Staff members and students of IDs 2552-2556 attended the session in a total of 19 participants. The guest speaker was Dr Danuvas Sagrik of International College Rangsit University. In closing the session, Ajarn Mongkol Sodachan thanked the guest speaker on behalf of the audience for updated information on the ASEAN Community and his constructive discussion on possible educational moves to be taken by Thailand. The evaluation results read 15 respondents (78.95%) at the highest satisfaction level, and 4 respondents at high satisfaction level (21.05%).



Doctor of Education Program Orientation 2013/ 2556

The Doctor of Education Program organized its Program Orientation 2013/ 2556 on Saturday 29 June 2013, 9:00-9:30 AM, #3-611, Building 3, Floor 6. New students of ID 2556, current students of IDs 2552-2555, and all program staff members attended the session in a total of 30. The Orientation was followed by a guest lecture of EDU 709 Leadership in Educational Innovation Module 1 at 9:30-12:30 hrs. The guest speaker was Asst Prof Dr Prayong Temchavala of Bangkok-Thonburi University delivering a lecture and conducting a discussion on Leadership for Modern Educators. The guest speaker also brought to attention of the audience considerations of time management, the use of Information Communication Technology for doctoral research, mental health and physical well-being for efficient leaders of educational organizations.

The Faculty of Education Rangsit University had its Faculty General Meeting 6-2555 on 8 May 2013 in Anodad Seminar Room, Amari Hotel Don Muang, Bangkok. The purposes were to wrap up operations of four graduate programs: M.Ed. in Bilingual Education, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed. in Educational Administration, and Ed.D. Doctor of Education, as well as to discuss other issues related to the Faculty’s Quality Assurance. All participants were academic staff members and administrative officers in a total of 22

Faculty of Education Conference 2014

The Faculty of Education organizes Conference 2014 on the theme of "Language Education Challenges in Building Human Capital for the ASEAN Community" on Saturday 1 March 2014 at the Multimedia Complex Building, Rangsit University. The Conference as an academic service to the public has four objectives thus: (1) to provide information on latest developments and innovations in language education, (2) bring to attention of educators current issues as related to language education in building human caputal for the ASEAN Community, (3) to disseminate research findings of the Facuty of Education, and (4) to project an image of quality education provided by Rangsit University. Participants are 300 teachers/ educators from schools, education offices, educational research units, and the public.

The Conference is presided over by Prof Dr Pornchai Matungkasombut, MD, representative of RSU President Dr Arthit Ourairat. The Chairperson delivers a keynote speech on "Language Education Challenges in Building Human Capital for the ASEAN Community," followed by two feature speakers: (1) Assoc Prof Dr Bussaba Kanoksilapatham on "English Is Too Difficult to Thai People: A Myth or Reality?" and (2) Khun Andrew Biggs on "How to Speak Good English for Thai Speakers." In the afternoon, there are five parallel sessions chaired by Program Directors: (1) Bilingual Education, (2) Curriculum and Instruction, (3) Language Skills for School Executives, (4) Research in Language Education, and (5) Integration of Contents and English in Science Education. The conference is closed with evaluation from all participants at 3:15 PM.



Faculty of Education Annual Meeting 2014

The Faculty of Education organizes its Annual Meeting 2014 at G Hua Hin Resort and Mall, Prachuabkirikhan on 29-30 January 2014. The purposes are to: (1) Review RSU and FERSU strategies for Action Plan 2013 and projects completed or in progress (2) Create Action Plan 2014 with allocated budget for projects in the framework of given RSU KPIs, (3) Review SWOT Analysis, (4) Update Risk Management, (5) Update Knowledge Management, (6) Overview program operations in the Faculty.

The participants are Faculty Consultant, Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research program directors, staff members and Support Staff. All purpose items and faculty overall operations are fully reviewed and discussed. The evaluation from 17 of 19 participants reads thus: 17 of 19 responses [89.47%]; level 5= 10 [59%]; level 4= 6 [35%]; level 3=1 [6%]; 77 of 85 points = 91% or level 4.55

Faculty of Education Rangsit University welcomed the RSU-IQA Inspection Committee on Thursday 20 August 2015. The Committee Chair Dr Prapatpong Senarit and other three members Asst Prof Dr Nares Pantaratorn [RSU-VP Academic Affairs], Dr Worachart Cherdchomchan [Dean of Physical Therapy], and Dr Sutarnthip Ruengprapawuth [Faculty of Science] inspected five IQA components and supporting documents for 11 IQA-indicators. The IQA scores were averaged at a high level.

M. Ed. Program in Bilingual Education organized a study trip to Shanghai as part of Course EDU 610 Comparative Study on 23-26 March 2015. Two course instructors Prof Dr Jamie Wallin and Dr Santi Kitluekiat led the group of 15 graduate students to visit Mengshan Middle School และ Jinmeng Civilian School. Both schools have been recognized for their PISA achievements and best educational practices. The Shanghai visit also included Shanghai Museum, Wax Museum, and an enjoyable ride on Shanghai Maglev Train.

Participation of MA Teaching Science Graduates ID 2556 in IPST Orientation on Teaching Profession on 10-14 October 2015

MA Teaching Science Graduates ID 2556 (Batch 1) participated in the Orientation Program organized by IPST Institute for Promotion of Science and Technology in collaboration with King Mongkut University of Technology Lard Krabang and Burapa University on 10-14 October 2015 at Pinehurst Hotel Pathumthani.

The purpose of the Orientation was to prepare the graduates for a teaching career in government schools regarding professional ethics and duties as well as desirable science-teacher characteristics. Topics for lectures and discussions were : (1) IPST expectation of good science teachers, (2) Regulations of Teacher Welfare, (3) Law and regulations for teachers as civil servants, (4) Teaching as a profession, and (5) Procedure for Teaching Appointment in Government Schools.

The Orientation was warmly closed with a Welcome-to-Teaching-Profession Ceremony for all MA Teaching Science graduates in attendance.

The Sixth Conference of the Faculty of Education, Rangsit University on Saturday 27 February 2016

The Faculty of Education organized its sixth conference on the topic of “Thinking Skills Development of Learners at the Primary and Secondary School Level” on Saturday 27 February 2016, 8:30-15:30 hrs, Multimedia Complex, Rangsit University. The Conference served as an annual academic service for educational communities and the general public.

The Chair of the Conference was Prof Dr Pornchai Matangkasombat, M.D. as Representative of RSU President Dr Arthit Ourairat. Two distinguished guest speakers in the morning session were Dr Somkiati Ariyapruchya, Dean Emeritus of Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations RSU, and H.E. Mikael Hemniti Winther, Embassador of Denmark to Thailand—both giving thought-provoking points on cultural patterns of thought and educational systems that accommodate ways of thinking in the eastern and western modes.

The afternoon session had 18 research presentations by school teachers, educators, and educational researchers under four subtopics: (1) Thinking Skills Development in Teaching Science, (2) Thinking Skills Development and Achievements, (3) Major Issues in Thinking Skills Development, and (4) Research in Thinking Skills Development.

The Organizing Committee had the Conference Proceedings in print copies and CDs for all participants. The registered audience was 200 and the conference overall evaluation turned out positive as planned.

On 9-10 February 2016, Assoc prof Dr Kanchana Chanpraset chaired the opening of Workshop on Construction of Learning Management Plans. The Workshop was conducted by the program staff member Dr Manit Boonprasert, aiming at providing knowledge and practical guidelines for the students to construct their learning management plans as responsive to the identified learning objectives. The evaluation result was Very Good (Mean = 4.73; S.D. =0.77).

M. Ed. Program in Curriculum and Instruction [CI] by Dr Srisamorm Poomsa-ard and the program staff conducted a thesis seminar for CI students to work on thesis topic identification, information search in support of the identified topic, followed by thesis proposal writing. The morning session dealt with CI students ID 2557 sharing their thesis experience with their peers ID 2558 via their demonstration of thesis proposal oral defenses. The afternoon session prompted CI students ID 2558 to try what they had learned from the morning session in small groups guided by the program staff members. The evaluation results turned out positive at 4.59 Very Good.

M.A. Program in Teaching Science Study Trip to the Republic of South Korea 8-12 March 2016

M.A. Program in Teaching Science by Assoc Prof Dr Kanchana Chanprasert (M.A. Program Director) and two program staff members Asst Prof Dr Araya Mungchamnankit and Dr Tanawan Asawarachan, led a group of thirteen M.A. students [Batch 3] to visit Korean Dongpae Junior High School, English Village School, and Hangman Academy in the Republic of South Korea on 8-12 March 2016. The visit focused on teaching and learning in the areas of mathematics, science and English, science lab work, and English-based science instruction. Included on the study trip were tourist attractions, particularly Korean culture and ways of life reflecting on the current trend of Korean Education. The study trip was an eye-opening experience for the visiting team. The evaluation of the study trip was at a very good level.

Included on the visit were a gallery of homage places of the Buddha, a dhamma lecture and merit-making activities. All participants were happy with their learning experience in the dhamma- and culture-based project organized by the CI Program Staff.

Included on the trip were tourist attractions, Sentosa, and Universal Studio. All participants evaluated their learning experience on the trip at a very good level.

M. Ed. Program in Bilingual Education [BLE] by Dr Pimurai Limpapath took a group of BLE students to visit the traditional market at Donwai Cultural Community. The visit was part of the Program’s cultural project for Thai and international graduate students to learn about ways of Thai life in the past and currently kept as examples of living traditions. Included on the trip was Air Orchids Farm with magnificently colorful flowers in bloom. All participants enjoyed their time over cultural activities in the project organized by the BLE Program Staff.

M. Ed. Program in Educational Administration organized a study trip to C ASEAN on 5 April 2016. Dr Pannarat Kadish led a group of graduate students to visit C ASEAN for the purpose of learning and understanding of directions taken by the member countries in the ASEAN Community in the economic, social and cultural perspectives. The Center Director Asst Prof Dr Karndee Leopairote welcomed all participants and gave explanations on the center’s activities. Such a local study trip provided a good overall picture of the ASEAN Community for educational leaders.

CI Program Orientation 2016
by M. Ed. Program in Curriculum and Instruction on Saturday 6 August 2016

Dr Nipaporn Chalermnirundon Director of M. Ed. Program in Curriculum and Instruction welcomed the new students and her program staff members to the orientation. The Program Director outlined the program structure and requirements, followed by basic information about the Faculty of Education. Two staff members Asst Prof Dr Somchanok Phuamai and Assoc Prof Dr Kanchana Chanprasert were present at the orientation. After the orientation, Assoc Prof Dr Kanchana Chanprasert started the first session of EDC 606 Curriculum Design and Development.

The second M. Ed. CI Orientation for international students was held on Thursday 11 August 2016. After the orientation, Asst Prof Dr Somchanok Phuamai started the first session of EDC 606 Curriculum Design and Development.

Faculty of Education, Rangsit University made merit on the Twelfth Anniversary (2004-2016) at Wat Klong Baan Mhai Pathumthani on Monday 8 August 2016. The staff members offered food and Sanghadana in 14 sets to monks for auspicious blessings for the Faculty and the Staff. Faculty of Education Internal Quality Assurance 2015 at the Program Level on 15-19 August 2016

Faculty of Education Rangsit University welcomed the RSU-IQA Inspection Committees at the Program Level on 15-19 August 2016. The five Committees inspected Six IQA components and supporting documents for 13 IQA-indicators of five graduate programs. The IQA scores were averaged at a high level.

Assoc Prof Dr Ruja Pholsward, Ed.D. Program Director hosted Ed.D. Program Orientation 2016 on Saturday 17 September 2016. In attendance were four professors: Dr Supatra Pradubpongse [Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research], Dr Donrutai Boonprasitt [Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs], Dr Pimurai Limpapath [Associate Dean for Educational Development and International Relations] and Dr Wanida Ploysangwal. Also present were students representing their batch ID 2013-2014: Mattana and Thatri. The Program staff members and representative students ID 2013-2014 heartily welcome all incoming students.

After the orientation, course EDU 709 Leadership in Educational Innovation started with Module 1.

Visit from the Research Team of Columbia Teachers College, USA on 16-18 November 2016

In collaboration with the Institute for Promotion of Science and Technology Thailand (IPST), Prof Dr Majorie Siegel led the research team from Columbia Teachers College to visit the MA Program in Teaching Science at the Faculty of Education, Rangsit University on 16-18 November 2016. The agenda items include data collection on MA program operations, staff and student interviews, followed by practicum observation at four MA-partner schools in Pathumthani Province.

The Seventh Conference of the Faculty of Education, Rangsit University on Saturday 25 February 2017

The Faculty of Education organized its seventh conference on the topic of “Technolo0gy for Educational Innovation” on Saturday 25 February 2017, 8:30-15:30 hrs, Multimedia Complex, Rangsit University. The Conference served as an annual academic service for educational communities and the general public.

Two distinguished feature speakers in the morning session were Professor Emeritus Dr Supachai Tangwongsant, Mahidol University and Assistant Professor Dr Suttisak Jantavongso, ICT College, Rangsit University. Both speakers showed highlights of the digital trend as well as thought-provoking points for the audience.

The afternoon session had 20 research and academic paper presentations by school teachers, educators, and educational researchers under four subtopics: (1) Technology for Education, (2) New Trend in Learning and Teaching, (3) Learning Management, and (4) Vital Issues of Learning.

The Organizing Committee had the Conference Proceedings 2017 in print copies and the journal Rangsit Journal of Educational Studies (RJES) for all participants. The registered audience was 265 and the conference overall evaluation turned out highly satisfactory as planned.
